A C C O M M O D A T I O N  R U L E S

 

Hotel VZ Měřín is located on the right bank of the Slapy reservoir, 60 km south of Prague, 280 m above sea level. The Slapy dam is one of many parts of the Vltava Cascade, which was built between 1948 and 1955. The reservoir covers an area of 1392 ha is 44 km long, 700 m wide at the widest point and holds 200 million cubic meters of water. Its depth near our hotel is between 26 and 40 m. The dam itself, "Ztracenka" camp and the vista at Rabyně are among the most frequented tourist spots.

The construction of the main hotel building began in 1984 and was finished in 1991. The additional housing, the water park, the indoor arena and a bowling alley were finished in 2002. In the following years, the café ‘U Staré řeky’, the wellness center and the hotel rooms underwent remodeling. Recently, the reception has been remodeled as well and a new cardio aerobic zone has been built in the indoor arena.

The hotel is located on gated and landscaped premises with the area of 12 ha. The nearest town is Neveklov, roughly 10 km away.

Hotel VZ Měřín, apart from accommodation and dining, offers the services of the wellness center, indoor and outdoor sports facilities and a water park. From May to September, the hotel also offers small boat rentals and roundtrip tours on the reservoir for the hotel guests on the engine powered ship called MÍR.

INFORMATION ON YOUR STAY

The rooms and the cabins are well equipped with all standard hotel amenities. Please, check your room or cabin and its furnishing at the beginning of your stay for any possible defects and damages, and if necessary, notify the reception. Smoking is prohibited in all rooms.

Accommodation in Hotel Měřín is only available to guests who are duly registered and cover the costs of accommodation in advance or at the check-in. The check-in is available from 2 pm.

At the check-in please present your ID or passport to the receptionists. The reception will then issue a hotel guest card for you, which also doubles as a board card. It enables you to enter the hotel Měřín, order and get your meals, get the room cards or keys and use additional services.

As per the Ordinance of the Blaženice municipality, guests are required to cover the tourist fee of 15 CZK per person per night at the reception during check-in. This does not apply to people below the age of 18 and above the age of 70, disability card holders and their assistants. Nor does it apply to the people who come for different purpose than spa treatment and relaxation (e.g. soldiers coming for preventive physical therapy).

We kindly ask you to respect the quiet hours (10 pm to 6 am) on the premises and be considerate towards other guests.

Visitors in the rooms are allowed pending permission of the Hotel Director or her Deputy between 8 am and 10 pm. You can receive visits at the reception of the hotel or the wellness center. You can also use the café ‘U Staré řeky’ and the Country Saloon.

The Hotel VZ Měřín allows small pets (i.e. cats and dogs of up to 10 kg in weight) pending permission of the Hotel Director. We thank you in advance for respecting the fact that dogs must be kept on a leash on the premises and on the beach.

Apart from the guests, only the housekeeping personnel are allowed to enter the room when they are cleaning. If necessary, maintenance staff performing small repairs and authorized personnel performing room inspection are allowed to enter the room with the housekeeping personnel.

When leaving the room, please make sure all the doors and windows are closed, the lights and the TV are off, and all chargers are unplugged (your mobile phone, tablet and laptop chargers etc.).

When leaving the hotel, please leave your room card and room or cabin key at the reception. If lost, a fee will be charged according to the fee list. The boom barrier gate card allowing driving in and out of the premises can be carried outside.

Use of the accommodation is not permitted if suffering from a contagious disease. If a guest develops such disease during his or her stay, they shall duly inform the reception or, if the severity demands, the director of the facility or their deputy.

Please, respect that smoking is prohibited on all premises of Hotel VZ Měřín and only allowed in designated areas, at the entrance and on the sundeck of the café. Smoking in the rooms is punishable by a fine of 2000 CZK.

In case of repeated severe violation of the Hotel Rules, the violator, apart from being fined, may be requested to leave before the end of their visit without compensation.

Guests are not allowed to move furniture either in the rooms or common areas or to interfere in any way with the construction or technical equipment of the building. Guests are also prohibited to use their own appliances with the exception of body massagers, blow-dryers, laptops, tablets and mobile phone chargers.

If you need to iron your clothes, you can borrow a flatiron and an ironing board for free at the reception or from a housekeeper. We would also like to ask you to always use an ironing board when ironing to prevent any damage to the room. If you disregard this, you will be charged in full for any damage to the room or the furnishing.

You can place your money and your valuables within the safe boxes in the hotel rooms free of charge. Please, only use them to keep money and valuables worth up to 5000 CZK. The hotel is not liable for any losses above that limit.

Money and valuables worth more than that may be stored in the safe box at the reception. The maximum value for one deposit is 30,000 CZK. The Hotel VZ Měřín is not liable for money and valuables kept outside the places specified in these Hotel Rules.

The building of the Hotel VZ Měřín is locked between 11 pm and 5 am. If arriving later, please, ring the doorbell by the main entrance. The reception staff will let you in the hotel upon presenting your hotel guest card.

Please do not exceed the stated capacity of the elevators. Children below the age of 10 can only use elevators when accompanied by an adult.

If a guest is injured during their stay, they should notify the reception — or if the severity demands, Hotel Director or their Deputy — immediately, but no later than on the last day of their stay.

The room must be vacated by 10 am on the last day. If you vacate your room later, you will be charged according to the price list presented at the reception. Luggage may be stored in the luggage storage.

If a guest is using a car, it should be parked it in the designated area as instructed by the receptionist after you unload your luggage. The parking area is not a guarded parking lot and its use is charged according to the price list presented at the reception. The Hotel VZ Měřín is not liable for any damage to the cars. Parking in non-designated areas and in front of the hotel is prohibited.

It is prohibited to carry firearms and ammunition on the premises of the Hotel VZ Měřín.

If there is a fire alarm, please follow the instructions given by reception and fire alarm guidelines placed in the rooms and in the hallways of the hotel. Fires must be reported at reception.

DINING

Guests can dine in the restaurant with either our buffet or à la carte menu in the café ‘U Staré řeky’. Meal timetable for breakfast, lunch and dinner may be found in Paragraph III. d) of these Hotel Rules.

The buffet provides a selection of several different meals. When entering the restaurant, you need to present your hotel guest card. Breakfast, lunch and dinner may be bought at the reception according to the price list as effective.

Packed lunches are available at the restaurant upon orders made the day before until 2 pm (Monday to Friday).

Please, do not enter the dining hall in your night garments, sports clothes, or a swimsuit. Please do not carry food or tableware outside the hall.

Programs for the preventive physical therapy and home recreations are presented on the bulletin boards in the info-room at the reception.

The hotel building, country saloon and bowling alleys offer free Wi-Fi. There are two free-to-use PCs in reception.

Within the 3rd floor of the hotel and the indoor arena there are playpens for children. There is also a sandpit next to the outdoor tennis courts. Children must always be accompanied by their parents or an adult.

It is possible to buy bottled drinks, toiletries, newspapers and magazines and souvenirs at the reception.

There is a pool (billiard) on the ground floor of the hotel (tokens available for a fee at the reception) as well as a gym and table tennis tables.

PAYMENT METHODS

Accommodation and services can be paid in cash or by the following cards: VISA, MasterCard, EuroCard, American Express, Maestro, JCB Card, Diners Club.

It is not possible to pay by card in the Country Saloon, the indoor arena, the restaurant ‘Mořská Panna’, at the entrance and the outdoor courts’ reception.

The staff are required to issue a receipt/invoice from the registration till at all points of sale.

COMPLAINTS

The complaints may be made according to the Rules of Complaints, which is available at all points of sale.

Complaints about the food should be made to the Head Waiter or the supervisor of the dining facilities.

Complaints about the accommodation should be made to the Head of Sales, Head Receptionist or a receptionist.

Complaints regarding other services should be made to Hotel Director or their Deputy.

The complaints books are available at the hotel reception, the wellness center reception and the restaurant.

Damages to the room or its furnishing done by a guest will be dealt with by Hotel Director or their Deputy on a case-by-case basis.
